We have been asked by many clients – what exactly name they should use for our products? A LED strip or maybe a LED stripe? Responding to that – we believe both forms are correct.
Our principal company Neonica uses both terms for the same product in their names nomenclature. Substituting one word with the other, you should be OK, and it would not be considered as any mistake. We’ve observed, however, that in the colloquial connotation those two terms have been used by our clients for something slightly different.
The term LED stripe usually is used when the client has a ‘lighting straight-line’ in mind – so for example, the profiled LED strip.
From the other hand the clients who inquiry about LED strips, they have in mind an elastic band with LED chips that they can attach to the surface to create the main or just the ambient lighting in the room or Camper Van.
The majority of ours and Neonica clients use the term LED strip.
LED strip lighting is considered as the perfect and flexible lighting material, thus it can be successfully used either and both for ambient, decorative or the main lighting in private houses, or commercial buildings.
Historically the existence of LED strip light is relatively short – just around ten years; however, it has been commonly used in many installations – attached to kitchen plinths, suspended ceilings, staircase railings, or around patio deckings in the gardens.
